Some of you may be wondering what this new theme, “Come Grow With Us,” is all about. In the past, we have been focusing on “Transforming 3-D People into God’s Mighty Army.” We still have the same vision in terms of transformed lives. However, our focus will now be helping individuals to grow in spiritual maturity so that they can be the ones who cause the growth of others.
In Ephesians 4:15-16 (NIV), the apostle Paul wrote about growth:
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
This word grow (gk. auxēsōmen) means to:
-to cause to increase
-to become greater
-to become greater in size (maturity, etc.)
For West Los Angeles Christian Center, “Come Grow With Us” has a two-fold meaning:
- We will encourage each other to find, pursue, and fulfill our God-given callings in our lives (individual growth).
- We will encourage others, who are currently not involved, to witness and take an active part in the growth of His Church (corporate growth).
Come join us as we allow God to cause growth in you and others around us.
