Journey Through the Book of John (1:43-51)
Today and later this week, we are celebrating two special events—the Super Bowl today and Valentines Day on Tuesday. Though these are two different events, there are some similarities. Both events require the choosing of specific people to be on your team or to be in relationship with. Both require overcoming struggles to win or to keep the relationship going. And both require getting along with others, tolerating one’s weaknesses or shortcomings, and appreciating one’s strengths and gifts. Jesus, in picking His disciples, understood all these dynamics as He specifically called each one to follow Him.
