This Tuesday, we will be celebrating the Fourth of July. This day commemorates the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. The Declaration announced the political separation of the Thirteen North American colonies from Great Britain. Jesus also gives us the opportunity to celebrate our own declaration of independence. When we believe and follow Him, we are freed from the wages of our sin, which is eternal death, and can live our lives on earth in the purpose and confidence that God created us for.
