This Christmas will be like no other. No gatherings of family and friends. No shopping frenzies for last minute gifts. No Christmas festivities for crowds to attend. No sitting on Santa’s lap except on a bench six feet away. No indoor services at church to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Many are spending their first Christmas without a love one due to quarantine separation, illness, or death because of COVID-19. What is common in all these activities is that they all have to do with interactions or relationships with people. Because we will not have the same opportunities to be in contact with people, we will experience voids or emptiness during this Christmas season.
