SYLVIA PAUL, Former Senior Pastor
Sylvia Paul is the former Senior Pastor of the West Los Angeles Christian Center and longtime resident of the westside of Los Angeles. Since 1975, she and her late husband, Charles, have worshipped and fellowshipped at this church. The two of them began to answer God’s call on their lives to minister in 1978. Besides a number of positions that they held at West Los Angeles Christian Center, they pioneered an outreach to the elderly that provided us hands on training in biblical studies, leadership, organization, and mentoring for our future pastorate. Sensing that they were called to shepherd the people of West Los Angeles Christian Center, they decided to study, prepare, and fulfill all the requirements to be ordained by Christian Evangelistic Assemblies.
In 1988, Charles and Sylvia became the senior pastors of this church. Sylvia continues to minister with clarity of vision, renewed passion, and heightened expectation for God’s movement and work on the westside of Los Angeles. Her desire is not only to build a ministry that touches many people, but also to raise up a new generation of young warriors for Christ who will be able to take the torch of leadership in the near future.
Sylvia continues to learn and grow each day, especially in the areas of leadership and teamwork. She believes that these elements provide the keys to successful church growth.
